A Quick Violet card

Thanks for stopping in to see what I'm up to. I really appreciate every one of your visits.

Today is going to have to be a very quick and simple card as I have to spend some time putting together my cards for next weeks class. Quick cards are always nice anyways.

I seem to be loving purple these days and that is what I had laying on my table sooo I went in search of a stamp to go with that colour. Then I saw a pile of the violets that I had coloured before.

I first thought ok you have already posted one using this stamp but then I figured I could make it different. So here is what I came up with.

I used Elegant Eggplant for the card base
I stamped a white piece with Elegant Eggplant ink using my En Francais background stamp.
I mounted the violets piece onto a very thin mat of Elegant Eggplant.

Like I said ..... this is a very quick card. Hope you like it.

Christmas Card from class

Good morning to each and every one of you that have peeked in. I appreciate your dropping in to see what is new.

I am posting another Christmas card ....and yes one of you said it was too early for these BUT I teach a class each week while I am here for the summer and the gals always want to do one Christmas card per week along with the others sooooo please bear with me.

While I am away during the winter I keep in touch with these gals via a little group site that I set up so we can chat back and forth and we decided to do a monthly challenge and post our cards to the group to share with each other.

Now if they look very close they will see that this card is actually one from .... I think ....the very first challenge we did. I just didn't post it to the group as I was trying to build up a stock to do each week. LOL

Sooooo I think you will be getting a Christmas card posted here each Thursday after the class.

Ok here is the card I did. I hope you don't mind Christmas in June too much and you like what I came up with.

Supplies
Card base is Bravo Burgundy
Pattern paper from local store is cut 4 x 5-1/4
Small mat is Bravo Burgundy cut at 2-3/4 x 4-3/4
Small white square is cut 1-3/4 x 1-3/4
Always Artichoke is cut 3 x 3
White oval is 3 x 2-14
I Used some glossy accent on the berries to shine them up too.
Stamps I used were from a set called Bells & Boughs

Check in next Thursday for another Christmas card. LOL  Maybe even make a few so you are ready early this year.

What a morning!

Oh some days it is just sooo nice to open this computer and find great news!

I have been chosen as the Featured Stamper over at Color Throwdown for this card I posted the other day.

I will now be able to add the Featured Stamper badge to my blog.

Then when checking my blog (which I do every morning) I see that I have another follower..... that makes 3 this week so far.

Thanks for joining Maribel, Dana and Shirley..... I really appreciate it.

I am going to have to add another item to my blog candy give away stash for when I reach the 100th follower.  I am putting each name in for the drawing as you join. It shouldn't take too long as we are over the quarter way now.

I have a class coming today so I don't have a card to post BUT will have something for sure tomorrow.

Thanks so much for dropping in .... be sure to check in tomorrow and see what I come up with.

Hugs

Soft Colours for Spring

Ohhhh I was so pleased to see that I have 2 new followers that signed up this weekend. Thanks so much for joining.

I am going to have to set aside some goodies for a draw when I reach the 100th follower.

This card was started for a colour challenge at Color Throwdown and then I will also add it to Make it Monday as we are able to post anything we have made that we would like to share to inspire others.

I thought of spring or summer when I saw the list of colours we had to work with soooo this is what I came up with.

Hope you like it enough to give me a little sugar by adding a comment ....or better yet...why not click on follow to come and follow me.

The colours required to work with were Baja Breeze So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz.

I used the Pear Pizzazz for the card base then the fist mat is So Saffron. I then used Very Vanilla to emboss using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then sponged some Early Expresso to highlight the embossed parts.

The only Baja Breeze on this card is the small blue flowers.

I stamped the butterfly from the SU set called Elements of Style with Early Expresso and cut it out then used demensionals to pop it up.

Let me know what you think.

Framed Sunflowers

Thanks to all of you over at Less is More that commented on my mistake with last posting. I have to tell you that each comment  brought a bigger smile as I was reading each and every one..... and no I didn't hit my head on the wall because as you said it would just make something else for me to fix. LOL  You gals are the greatest.

OK I tried another card as I said I would. All I did was sponge a circle over each flower with So Saffron chalk then darkened the center with some brown. I used a green pencil crayon on the stems. The hardest part was getting the stams lined up so I could do the lines around to frame the whole thing in.

Here's the 2nd card.

Less is More- Boxed Image

Again I would like to REALLY thank all of you that have taken a moment to leave me a comment on my cards. One day I had 60 views from another challenge site and not one person made a comment of any kind.  You gals at "Less is More" are really great about spreading some encourgement with your comments.

I had every intention of getting this challenge posted first thing this morning BUT since my hubby passed I have become the Mr Fix It of this house and last summer a squirrel had ripped my kitchen window screen soooo I figured I would give it a try at replacing it. Well I wnt to tell you gals out there on your own..... there was nothing to it so don't be afraid of at least trying to fix things yourself.

Ok enough of that .... on to my card.

I have tried a couple of times to enter my cards at Less is More only to get a note saying I didn't do it right. I did manage to enter another one but I found it very hard to leave a lot of the space empty. You would think this would be easy to do but I guess we are used to layers and more layers and I kept thinking it needs just a little more. Well this week I just did as requested and this one is a very simple understated card but I am thinking that less is starting to be refreshing now. I will try more of these.

There is nothing to tell you about this card other than I used SU Black card stock and ink.

Here is my attempt for this week.
You should try one too.  LOL I bet you will find it hard not to think .... but it just needs a little something. LOL

OK Chrissie.....  did I do any better????  LOL I hope 3 is a charm....  as they say and I am on the right track now.
I have to edit this post....
I just can't believe this!!!!! I messed up again!!!! This week is supposed to be as follows....

OLC One Layer CardOne piece of card folded in half with no additional layers and minimal embellishments, where the image is stamped or printed directly onto the cardstock.

and I just had to put it on BLACK CARDSTOCK!!!!!OK Chrissie I will do another one and I am going to go and bang my head against the wall. I will get it right...I will get it right... I will get it right.

Clean and Simple-Acrylic Block Stamping

A few days ago I was playing around and tried using my acrylic block to stamp a shadowy looking section on a card. I really liked the effect it gives so I decided to do it agin for this challenge too at Clean & Simple.

I used SU Mellow Moss for a card base. I stamped my inked up acrylic block with SU River Rock on to a white piece that I had punched the border with my SU Scallop Trim Border punch.

I then stamped a stamp from the Watercolor Trio set using SU Mellow Moss ink. The sentiment is from the set called Blossoms Abound which is an old SU set.

The butterflies are from an SU die cut called Beautiful Wings then I just sponged a little SU Mellow Moss on the edges.

Here is what I ended up with to post. Now JUST BELOW this one is another one I did using different colours so scroll down to see it too.

I think this one is more vibrant but I still like the softness of the one above.
The colours I used for this one are Rich Razzelberry and Pretty in Pink. Let me know which one you like best.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you come back again soon for another visit.

Monochromatic-Another try

Boy no posts for a few days and now you are going to get 2 in one day! LOL

I am trying for a VERY clean card with lots of white space for the Less is More challenge.

I did this up in 5 minutes so it is one that you could use as a last minute card as you are going out the door.

The card stock is SU River Rock. The stamp set is one from SU Watercolor Trio and the only ink used is SU River Rock. This is truly a monochromatic card.

I used my little acrylic block to stamp the 2 rectangles then stamped the sprig on top of these.
I hope this one will be ok for  Less is More

Simple Monochromatic For Any Occassion

Good morning all my blogging friends. It sure is going to be a hot humid day today so I think I will be staying inside and making a few cards. LOL The gardening can wait a few more days until this humidity goes away a little.

I love monochromatic cards as they just seem so elegant and this is one that I think could be used for many occassions.

I used Sahara Sand and white.....that's all. I embossed the center panel with the SU Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder. The stamp I used is from the SU set called Watercolor Trio.

Thanks so much for stopping in to have a peek at what I am doing. I hope you liked what you found on my site and will returm again soon.

Simple Christmas Card

Toady I would like to take a moment to THANK all of you that took a moment to leave such lovely comments for me. It really means a lot to me and also lets me know that there is someone stopping in to see what I am up to. I hope that you are browsing through some of the older posts too.

I started my summer classes up again last night and the gals that attend like me to show them one Christmas Card every week. It keeps me hopping BUT it means I also have my cards done too so no mad rush in the fall which is a big plus.

I tried to get ahead of the game while I was down south for the winter so some of you may have seen this already. This one goes together so fast my sister made 10 of them after she did  one at my place.

OK I will stop rambling and get on to the card.

I love the green and brown together. The card stock used is SU Mellow Moss and Chocolate chip. The stamps are from SU Bells & Boughs. I used a striped background stamp inked with Mellow Moss to match the card base and stamped the sentiment with Chocolate Chip to tie in with the mats.

Let me know what you think of this one and there could be more to follow.
