Hi again my fellow bloggers.....it has been awhile since I have been able to spend time on my blog and I do apologize for that but I have been babysitting family children ages 4 and up since I arrived back home and I am sure you know how they make the day pass quickly.
Now what got me back to posting is due to a sale that I went to this weekend where I bought a set that I had wanted to buy before but thought it was too limited as it was a heart shape. The set I am talking about is SU's Take It To Heart.
I sat and looked at it today and decided to try to stamp it with out the heart line around the edge of it.....I know you can put masking tape on but I was in a hurry so I inked it up then just took a damp kleenex and swiped the ink off the line and stamped. I didn't get as clean an image as I wanted but I was sure I would be able to do something with it sooooo I placed my oval die on and moved it around until I was please with what I could get from the stamped image.
I had not cleaned the heart line off enough so I stamped a little butterfly over and poof..... the heart line disappeared and I think that little guy even added to the image. LOL
OK so here is the card I came up with. I think it could have used some embossing on the white......let me know what YOU think....... I love reading your comments.

Colours make a difference
Hello my blogging friends, so glad you took the time to check out what I did today.
I just saw this new sketch and just had to give it a try. I played around with two colours and ended up making two cards from them...... so you can see what a difference colour can make.
I made the first one using SU Daffodil Delight as I was thinking Easter card and I think it looks very cheerful and spring like..... and my friends up north sure want spring to come soon. LOL
The second one I did in SU Rose Red .....just because I have been using a soft pink too much lately and I need a change.
I think this makes a clean and simple card too.
Now take a look at both and let me know which one you like the best. I always love the input.
OK here are the cards. Hope you like them....I love this sketch and will use it again for sure.

And now the Rose one.
I hope you are finding something on my little blog to inspire you ...even if it is just a small thing you see that you can use.
Have a happy carding day.

Hello again and thank you for stopping in. I hope you find something here that you fancy. Be sure to take a few minutes to look around.

LOL
Here is the second card that I did.....which will qualify.
I used up more of the designer paper.....this sheet is has already done quite a few cards and I still have some left so watch out you are going to see more cards done with this. LOL

Lots of layers monochromanic
Welcome back....so glad you had time to drop in...please take another minute to leave a comment if you like what you see....it will spur me on to creating another new card to post here LOL and sometimes I do need a little nudge.
Todays card is derived from a layout that my sister drew up..... I looked at all these layers and wondered how I was going to be able to accomplish this.
I am soooo happy that I had some SU sheets from their Brights Designer Pack. Using this easily created a monochromatic card that I felt was pleasing.
The only thing I might change next time is make the notched strip white instead of the pink.
One of the challenges that I entered calls for a double up soooo my scalloped edge is what I doubled up on.
Here is my creation...... hope you like it.

I think I will enter this here too.

A Different Card With A Built In Gift
Hello again and thanks for stoping in for a peek at my creations.....I hope you try this new type of card with a bookmark built right into it, that I did for a challenge over at Mark's Finest Papers. This is such a novel idea and I hope you will try one for yourself.
I used a Goldfinch (canary) stamp that I purchased a few weeks ago. Then 2 weeks ago I found the companion stamp and I almost didn't buy it but now I'm glad I did as it worked out perfectly for the bookmark portion of this card.
I see now that I forgot to put a ribbon at the top for the bookmark but I promise I will...... I noticed it when looking at the photo's that I placed here. I'll just punch a hole at the top and add some nice yellow ribbon to match the Goldfinch.
Here are three photos of the card that I came up with. The side on the right has been perforated so the recipient can tear the bookmark off to use.
Card standing showing front and bookmark.
This photo is showing the card laying open looking at the back.
This one shows the front.
To make one of these you will need an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock. Measure in along the 8 1/2 in (at the top) and cut at 5 1/2" to form the card base. This will give you a cut piece which is 5 1/2 by 11.
Now place the 11" at the top of your score board and score at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2.
Now you will pierce down the 8 1/2" scored line which will form the 2" bookmark portion. You can place a ruler and pierce or use a piercing pack for accurate measurements.
Now simply decorate.
You can see step by step with photo instruction's here by Jane, at Mark's Finest Paper's Challenge.

Simply A Tea Pot
First, I want to extend a huge WELCOME to the newest gals that have become followers....thank you for joining in to see what I am doing. I love it when you leave me some comments so I know you have visited.
OK on to the card.......I made this card for a shaped card challenge over at Mark's Finest Paper.
I struggled with what to do for a shaped card....then I went to the net and found a piece of clip art in the shape of a tea pot and I thought piece of cake.
Great....I thought, until I realized that I don't have a printer here that will work with my new computer....sooo I got the image up on my screen then I placed a piece of paper over my screen and traced it out and laid it on my folded piece of card stock and cut the two layers out together. I even added a little drip thing on the end of the tea pot to prevent any little drips when you pour the tea as I hate when it drips. LOL
I had to make a tea pot so I could use that cute little verse....I just love it. Hope you like what I ended up with.

A Quick Pretty in Pink Card
Hello again.....so glad you came for a visit. I hope you will stay for awhile and browse a little to see if there is anything here to inspire you in a small way.
I got a parcel in my mail this afternoon and I just had to get right down to it making a card with the new die that I got.
I decided that I would make it with some Pretty in Pink card stock that I have on hand then I just used white to keep it simple. It was a quick card to do..... might have taken 45 minutes, because of the colouring.
Here is what I came up with..... for a very quick and simple card.

Lovely Swans
Good evening fellow bloggers....thanks for stopping in to see what I have been doing. It means a lot to me when I see that you took the time to leave a comment....PLUS that way I know you have been here.
This is my card that represents the blocking challenge that I had sent to my girlfriends up in Canada. We do these challenges while I am away and it keeps me from missing them so much.
I love the graceful look of swans swimming so when I saw this stamp at I just had to have it. It is from an old Stampin Up set from 2000. I used paper from a current SU designer pattern pack. I love how their papers match their card stock.
Well here is my card for tonight....... thanks again for stopping in and I hope you liked what I came up with for my card.

More bright colours
So glad you came back for another visit. Please be sure to take a minute to leave a comment so I know you have popped in for a visit.
Well the card I did in my last post was a real challenge for me. I had a hard time putting those three colours together but once done I got some good reviews from anyone I showed it to soooo I thought I would give it another try.
Just to refresh you....I had to use fushia, yellow and black on a card. This one I will use for a birthday card this summer for one of my grandchildren.
I am entering this one at Mark's Finest Papers too.

Hi fellow bloggers. Hope you are having a fantastic day. Thanks for dropping in to see what I am up to.
Yesterday I was visiting with a couple of friends and we were putting our heads together about blogging. While chatting I was told about this challenge for a card using yellow, fuschia and black.
I came home and started a card....then tried another one....well you know how it goes. LOL This was a real challenge out of my comfort zone but I was not going to give up.

Hello and thank you......to all of you that have dropped in for a peek into my stamping room..... I love to know when you have come for a visit so please leave me a comment if you can.
Why don't you click on the "join this site" button so you will always know what I am up to.
Now, todays card is one that I am going to use to start back into the challenges. One challenge wants us to use something at least 6 months old soooo I used my poppy background stamp from Stampin Up and my dies must be a few years old and my background stamp is 2 years old......boy I think this card has everything old except the verse which is only a couple of months old.

The layout for this card is one that was provided by a friend of mine at home for our own friendly challenge.
I used Real Red, Basic Black and white card stock. I don't have many embellishments down here with me sooo I used a punch to make the little dots in the upper left corner instead of buttons.

A simple layout
Good morning to all of you that have popped in for a peek.
Today, as promised, I am showing you another card that I did for a challenge between a group of very dear friends at home. It helps to keep me connected with them while I am away.
We each take turns finding or creating a layout for us to make a card from, then we see how many different cards we can make using this layout.
Last weeks layout was a quick and easy one and fun to work with. I don't know where Karen got it from, it could have been her own design or something she had seen out there on the web. It was 3 squares across the bottom with a strip just above these and then a circle or square at the top.
This is the second card I came up with. You can see the first card by clicking here.
For this card I used a white card base then embossed a mat of Pacific Point from Stampin Up using their tulip folder. Instead of a ribbon or plain strip of card stock I punched a pretty decorative edge of white. The 3 squares across the bottom are from an old discontinued package of Stampin Up that matched the Pacific Point colour very well.
I love the verse on this one. I happened to pick it up at a garage sale down here this winter.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and come back soon for a visit.

1 year to this date
Hello out there in the blogging world. It has been exactly one year since since I have posted anything and I am thinking I need to get back into the swing of things.
Today I am going to show you a card that I whipped up as soon as I got home from a shopping trip with my sister. It's for a challenge with a group of my friends at home that we do each week to keep connected while I am away for the winter. I hope you enjoy it.
Come back tomorrow to see my second entry for that week.
